Who can join COLORS?

Memberships are available to individuals, businesses and associations who support our efforts to keep Columbia and all of Boone County diverse and sustainable.

Local Character and Prosperity
In an increasingly homogenized world, communities that preserve their one-of-a-kind businesses and distinctive character have an economic advantage.

Business
$125/year
Benefits of Membership >

You can become a member of COLORS if your business meets all the following criteria:

  • Privately owned. This means owned by individuals, not a part of a national corporation.
  • Owned in majority (51% or more) by resident(s) of Boone County.
  • Full decision-making capabilities for the business lie with its owner(s)—legal, advertising, marketing, all of it.
  • No more than 6 outlets.
  • Bases of operation lie within Missouri (business is registered in Missouri).

Individual
$15/year

Citizens can become supporting members too! $15/year gets you discounts with participating businesses, and that warm feeling of being a part of a community effort.

You don’t need to live in Boone County to support the cause! Anyone can become a citizen member and partake of the diversity (and discounts!) that independent businesses offer.

Associate
$100/year
Benefits of Membership >

If you are a community-based non-profit organization that cares about the quality of life in Boone County, we invite you to join us as an Associate Member.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
  • As soon as you join, you’ll be listed on our website with a link to your own website. You’ll receive an identifying window decal that creates a “brand recognition” so people will know you’re a member.
  • You’ll have opportunities to network and brainstorm with fellow business members to create solutions that address the unique concerns we face as independents, through our semi-quarterly mixers, and by using our member-to-member forum.
  • You’ll be included in our Buying Guide which is distributed at member businesses and public events (Columbia Farmers' Market, Earth Day, etc.). This is our primary educational tool that also guides consumers to YOU.
  • Display the colors logo on your website. Click here to find out how!
